Plans
have been unveiled:
"...The master plan injects new life into existing
landmarks like the Illuminations light show, the promenade,
Pleasure Beach, rebuilding the town's historic tram,
restoring Victorian architecture and creating new green
spaces."

has already secured £10m of European money to start
to put some of the ideas into practice. |

| AREAS
TO BE REDEVELOPED:
Seven areas of the town are to be redeveloped,
including the main road entrance from the M55, the seafront
Golden Mile, areas around the Pleasure Beach, the town
centre and railway station. Schemes
proposed include a new conference centre, several inter-connected
hotel casinos, a glass-covered tropical attraction and
a new aquarium. |
